Grateful for a rich musical week.

It's the first year in a long time that I'm actually looking forward to the holiday sets. It's a challenging time for the world, yet there is more than a glimmer of optimism struggling to thrive -like life, it will always find a way.

Tuesday jamming with James Sanders and friends, we made a few recordings of "Angel Eyes" and "East of the Sun." It was so fun to jam with new players, and James has a gentle way of leading, that results in tight and inspired performances.

Last night a terrific rehearsal with James Cornolo. We're adding a bunch of new songs to the holiday list (I'm particularly fond of the Peanuts song "Christmastime Is Here") - as well as a few standards; the yummy haiku "Moonlight In Vermont," uber-charming "Polkadots and Moonbeams," and (for our good friend Howard) "The Very Thought of You."

Happy Thanksgiving!
